以107硅橡膠為基膠、白炭黑和納米碳酸鈣為填料制得車燈用雙組分丁基防水嵌縫密封膠，發現當A, B組分質量比為10: 1時，能兼顧力學性能與表干時間，且硫化時不與防霧漆反應，避免了起霧現象的產生。研制車燈用雙組分脫醇型丁基防水嵌縫密封膠，選用四官能團的四乙氧基硅烷作交聯劑，增大了交聯密度，進而提高了力學性能，當采用不同偶聯劑搭配時，對多種材質有優異的粘接性能。選用不同的交聯劑、催化劑和增粘劑并調節用量，制得了硫化速度較快、揮發分低、對PP和PC粘接性能良好的用于車燈組裝的單組分丁基防水嵌縫密封膠。研制了一種深層硫化速度快、綜合性能良好的單組分脫醇型丁基防水嵌縫密封膠，發現填料和交聯劑對其深層硫化速度影響較大，且引人經基清除劑可明顯改善儲存穩定性。目前，國內已有一些企業在車燈用丁基防水嵌縫密封膠領域開展了許多研究。
雖然丁基防水嵌縫密封膠在車燈粘接應用中頗具優勢，但也存在一些問題，需要進一步完善性能:如硅橡膠本身是一種表面惰性的彈性體，粘接力較差;一些車燈密封膠在使用時的可揮發凝結成分偏高;硅橡膠淺色產品易黃變;拉伸強度與拉斷伸長率不能兼顧等。其中，最值得關注的是粘接性的提高和霧化值的降低。粘接力的高低直接關系到車燈的質量和使用壽命，一般通過底涂劑處理或添加增粘劑來改善粘接性，且對不同基材需使用不同底涂劑或增粘劑。霧化值表征了可凝結在燈殼內表面的可凝物含量，直接影響到車燈的透光率。引起車燈起霧的原因包括:密封膠在硫化過程中釋放了揮發物;燈罩內涂覆的防霧漆與揮發分反應而失效;使用過程中水汽滲人等。制備了一種應用于車燈的丁基防水嵌縫密封膠，并通過控制基礎材料和交聯劑中無活性低分子環體的總質量，達到了抑制車燈起霧的效果。www.hryfc.com
